The Backstage Bar at Theater Square is the Cultural District's newest hot spot for drinks, a quick bite to eat, live entertainment, and great company through the evening.

The Backstage Bar is centrally located and features a smoke-free atmosphere. It?s the perfect place to meet before a performance, or lounge after a show, or just a great spot to gather with friends. Plus, you never know who might drop by!

The Backstage Bar serves an outstanding list of premium wines, spirits, specialty drinks and beers to complement the fun and casual food prepared by James Beard award-winning Chef Toni Pais and his team from Café Zao.

And you never need a ticket for the show! The Backstage Bar is open to the public and often features live entertainment with no cover charge. We are open before and after shows. Or, stop by after work for Happy Hour (9–11 pm Tuesdays – Fridays).

Join us at the Backstage Bar at Theater Square for a great time in the Cultural District. You can enter the bar from behind the fountain in Katz Plaza, or through the main entrance to the Cabaret at Theater Square, under the Theater Square marquee.

Outdoor Dining

The Backstage Bar now offers al fresco dining in the heart of the Cultural District. Enjoy happy hour specials and casual fare, alongside the soothing Katz Plaza fountain and the breezy Linden trees. Directions

The Backstage Bar at Theater Square is located at 655 Penn Avenue, between the O'Reilly Theater and Katz Plaza. Theater Square is the brick & blue building with the large television screen on the corner.

From the corner of the building under the screen, you can either go straight to enter through the Cabaret Theater doors on Penn Avenue, or simply pass the elevator shafts to walk down the path between the WQED Carol M. Byham Studio and Katz Plaza.

Parking

You can also park in the Theater Square Garage to make your visit a cinch. The garage entrance is on Seventh Street, between Ft. Duquesne Boulevard and Penn Avenue and next to the new Encore on 7th condominiums.

Safety

The Backstage Bar retains the services of an Allied Barton security guard every evening, so that you can relax and enjoy your visit. Security monitors not only the bar and the theater, but the perimeter of the building as well.
