Jo Stromgren Kompani

Presented by: The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust
Venue: New Hazlett Theater
Thursday, October 23 - Friday, October 24, 2008
Tickets: $20

Direct from Norway, Jo Stromgren Kompani’s The Department is a theatrical mix of acting and dancing with nonsense language and absurd humor - all accompanied by live music. The Department uncovers the daily agenda within the secret sanctuary of an imaginary government operation. Agents analyze and scrutinize society through peepholes and message services. Access has been sealed off for extreme secrecy. Orders come from the top are distributed down into the realm of a bureaucratic maze. Absurd and complicated, everything appears to be operating normally inside The Department - until one of the agents smells freshly baked bread, and starts asking questions.
